Eilen tuli patologilta tieto Caran poistetusta patista.
DESCRIPTION: Examined is a cross-section from mammary excision. There is a nodular, well demarcated, partially encapsulated mammary mass exhibiting cystic/cystpapillary architecture. The papillary structures are lined by 1 to 2 layers of columnar, cuboidal or attenuated cells. The cells are slightly pleomorphic. Mitoses are less than 1 per 10 high power fields. Papillary structures are supported by variable numbers of myoepithelial cells or fibrovascular stroma. The lymphatics are indistinct and there is no evidence of lymphatic or vascular invasion.
DIAGNOSIS: Mammary gland: mammary cystpapillary adenoma, completely excised.
BEHAVIOR: Benign mammary tumor.
PROGNOSIS: Optimistic.
COMMENT: There is no evidence of malignancy and surgical excision is curative. A development of additional, complete independent mammary tumors in other glands is possible.
